  • Die NIV ist eine Bereicherung in den therapeutischen Möglichkeiten einer ARI.

  • Besonders Patienten mit hyperkapnischem Atemversagen profitieren von einer NIV.

  • Von den Pneumoniepatienten profitieren besonders diejenigen mit vorbestehenden kardialen und pulmonalen Erkrankungen von der NIV.

  • Die NIV kann eine wesentlich frühere Beatmungsentwöhnung ermöglichen und das Risiko eines Post-Extubationsversagens reduzieren.

  • Beim kardialen Lungenödem ist nicht die NIV, sondern CPAP die Methode der ersten Wahl.

  • Die Expertise des NIV-Teams mit Respektierung der Indikationen, Kontraindikationen und Einschränkungen der NIV ist ein Garant für eine erfolgreiche NIV-Therapie.
