Die Bedeutung von planen Aufbissschienen für die kieferorthopädische Diagnostik und Therapie

Zusammenfassung

Plane Aufbissschienen haben sich bei der Behandlung von kraniomandibulären Dysfunktionen und bei der Wiederherstellung der Okklusion bewährt. Dieser Artikel ist eine praktische Anleitung dazu, wie wertvoll eine ganztägige Schienentherapie – in ausgewählten Fällen bei Hinweisen auf eine Kiefergelenkbeteiligung – für die kieferorthopädische Diagnose und Therapie sein kann.

Abstract

Treatment with flat occlusal splints is well established within the fields of TMD and bite reconstruction. This paper is a practical guide as to how full time flat splint therapy can be a valuable part of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment in selected cases with signs and symptoms of TMD.
