Direktor des Instituts für Cytopathologie der Universität Düsseldorf, 1994−2009. 270 wissenschaftliche Publikationen, davon 80 über DNA-Zytometrie, 38 Buchbeiträge, ein Patent, fünf Forschungspreise, vier Geräteentwicklungen. Kooperation mit dem Lehrstuhl für Bildverarbeitung an der RWTH-Aachen, Prof. D. Meyer-Ebrecht, seit 1986.
