Abstract

Cu(dap)2Cl has been utilized as a visible-light photoredox catalyst for the atom-transfer radical addition (ATRA) of benzyl halides to styrenes and silyl enol ethers. The resulting ATRA products can be readily converted into tetrahydroquinolines.
