• Das akute Skrotum ist ein echter urologischer Notfall.

• Ausführliche Anamnese und klinischer Befund sind für Diagnose und Therapieentscheidung essenziell.

• Der Sonografie bzw. Dopplersonografie kommt eine zentrale Rolle in der diagnostischen Abklärung des akuten Skrotums zu.

• Bei Verdacht auf eine Hodentorsion ist die operative Hodenfreilegung indiziert.
