Abstract
Ultrasound can capture the living nature of a person. This capturing of life depends greatly on experience as well as sense of touch, intuition, sense of speech, and not least a sense for the distinctiveness of every person. Performing ultrasound is not simply the application of a technique but rather a merging of man and technology in the framework of an interpersonal encounter. Therefore, as much should be invested in the interpersonal nature of the encounter as in the development of the technical principles of the ultrasound probe. To effectively perform ultrasound, it is necessary to avoid viewing ultrasound from a purely technical view and to always remember the importance of the relationship to the patient, particularly during the technical examination.
Zusammenfassung
Der Ultraschall ist eine Technik nah am Menschen, weil sie die Lebendigkeit des untersuchten Menschen einfangen kann. Dieses Einfangen der Lebendigkeit hat viel mit Erfahrung zu tun, aber auch mit Tastsinn, mit Gespür, mit Sprachsinn und somit nicht zuletzt mit dem Sinn für die Unverwechselbarkeit einer jeden Person. Ultraschall zu machen ist daher nicht Anwendung einer Technik, sondern ein Verschmelzen von Mensch und Technik in einer zwischenmenschlichen Begegnungssituation. Deswegen sollte in die Zwischenmenschlichkeit der Begegnungssituation genauso viel investiert werden wie in die Ausreifung der technischen Grundlagen des Ultraschallkopfes. Eine gute Ultraschalldiagnostik ist die, die sich davor bewahrt, Ultraschall als reine technische Apparatur zu betrachten und den Stellenwert der Beziehung zum Patienten auch und gerade im Moment der technischen Untersuchung immer im Blick behält.
