Equine Grass Sickness (EGS) ist in manchen Gegenden Großbritanniens die häufigste Todesursache von Pferden. Auch in Deutschland tritt die Erkrankung auf, besitzt hier aber eine sehr viel niedrigere Inzidenz. Aufgrund der schlechten bis infausten Prognose ist es wichtig, EGS als Differenzialdiagnose zu anderen Kolikursachen zu berücksichtigen.
