Abstract
Typically when we work with kingdoms in homeopathy, we consider animal, plant and
mineral separately…first identifying the themes in the case, then matching those to
the broad themes of the three kingdoms and then the more specific themes of periodic
table rows, animal species and plant sensation. This case reflects an expansion of
this kingdom approach based on work by Dr. Shachindra and Dr. Bhawisha Joshi. The
client is a woman with an obsessive need to work, even as she ages, develops physical
structural problems and exhausts herself. For many years, remedies of Row 4 of the
periodic table helped her tremendously…and yet never quite cleared the unhealthy patterns
she had. The Joshis recognised that similarities exist in the patterns of mineral
kingdom rows and patterns of various animal species. Using this paradigm, the client
experienced a deep and lasting improvement in her overall health after doses of a
‘Row 4 animal’, Formica rufa.
