Die Ureterektopie des Hundes

Das Vorliegen einer Ureterektopie ist die häufigste Ursache für Inkontinenz beim jungen Hund [[11]]. In einer Untersuchung, in der die Inkontinenzursachen von 563 Hunden ausgewertet wurden, lag bei 55 % der juvenilen Tiere eine Ureterektopie vor [[10]]. Daher sollte diese Differenzialdiagnose grundsätzlich bei allen jüngeren Hunden mit intermittierendem oder kontinuierlichem Harnträufeln in Betracht gezogen werden. Wenn allerdings eine Inkontinenz erst im fortgeschrittenen Alter auftritt, ist eine Insuffizienz des urethralen Schließmuskels die häufigste Ursache. Diese wurde in der bereits erwähnten Untersuchung bei 82 % der adulten inkontinenten Hündinnen diagnostiziert.
