Anterior septal reconstruction (ASR) is a form of extracorporeal septoplasty used to treat anterocaudal septal deviation. Some patients also suffer from lateral wall insufficiency (LWI), where the lateral nasal wall collapses on inspiration. Specific therapies are used to treat LWI, but the isolated effect of ASR on LWI has not previously been studied. We hypothesized that patients undergoing ASR would experience improvement in LWI severity given the decrease in nasal resistance.
