Im Rehazentrum Insula in Bischofswiesen/Strub werden seit 16 Jahren extrem übergewichtige Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene (Durchschnittsalter 15,8 Jahre) in Langzeittherapie über zwei bis neun Monate behandelt. Neben der Gewichtsreduktion - aktueller durchschnittlicher Body-Mass-Index (BMI) bei Aufnahme: 42 kg/m2 - liegt der Fokus auf der Behandlung der Adipositas-Folgeerkrankungen.
