Das adipöse Kind in der Anästhesie

Zusammenfassung

Etwa 15 Prozent aller Kinder und Jugendlichen in Deutschland sind übergewichtig, sechs Prozent sogar adipös und die Tendenz ist steigend. Auch in der Kinderanästhesie wird diese Thematik daher zunehmend relevant: Aufgrund von Adipositas kann es während Allgemeinnarkosen zu Komplikationen kommen. Der folgende Beitrag fasst den Wissensstand auf diesem Gebiet zusammen. Es wird die Definition für Adipositas im Kindesalter und deren Ursachen erläutert, über adipositasassoziierte Begleiterkrankungen informiert und das entsprechende anästhesiologische Management dargestellt.

Summary

In Germany, about 15 % of children and adolescents are overweight – 6 % even obese and the incidence is on the increase. In pediatric anesthesia this problem will become more significant: different perioperative complications are quite common in obese children compared with their normal-weight counterparts. This review summarizes the current knowledge about the topic, explains the definition of childhood obesity and their etiologies, informs about potential co-morbidities and makes recommendations for the anesthesiological management.
