Disappearance Rate of ¹³³Xe from the Dog Liver with Different Routes of Administration

Summary

In anaesthetized dogs the disappearance rate of ¹³³Xe injected into the liver parenchyma was much slower than that of ¹³³Xe injected into the hepatic artery, while the highest disappearance rate was obtained when the isotope was injected into the portal vein. Vasopressin reduced the disappearance rate of ¹³³Xe injected into the portal vein considerably without changing the disappearance rates for the isotope injected into the hepatic artery or directly into the liver parenchyma.

Chez les chiens anesthésiés, le taux d’élimination du ¹³³Xe injecté dans le parenchyme hépathique était beaucoup moins rapide que celui du ¹³³Xe injecté dans l’artère hépatique, tandis que le taux d’élimination le plus élevé était obtenu lorsque l’isotope était injecté dans la veine porte. La vasopressine diminuait considérablement le taux d’élimination du ¹³³Xe injecté dans la veine porte sans changer les taux d’élimination de l’isotope injecté dans l’artère hépatique ou directement dans le parenchyme hépathique.

Bei narkotisierten Hunden war die Verschwinderate von in das Lebergewebe injiziertem ¹³³Xe wesentlich langsamer als jene von in die A. hepatica injiziertem ¹³³Xe, während die höchste Verschwinderate nach Injektion des Isotops in die Portalvene beobachtet wurde. Vasopressin verminderte die Verschwinderate von in die Portalvene injiziertem ¹³³Xe stark, ohne jene Verschwinderaten zu beeinflussen, die nach Injektion des Isotops in die A. hepatica oder direkt ins Lebergewebe beobachtet worden sind.
