Zusammenfassung
Gegenstand und Ziel: Die atopische Dermatitis ist eine häufige Hautkrankheit der Katze. Ihre Symptome, Diagnose und Therapie werden beschrieben. Material und Methoden: Bei vier Katzen wurde aufgrund der klinischen Symptome (miliare Dermatitis, Alopezie, Juckreiz, verschiedene Formen des eosinophilen Granulomkomplexes) sowie des Ausschlusses anderer Ursachen und nach intrakutanem Allergietest eine atopische Dermatitis diagnostiziert und mit Immuntherapie (Desensibilisierung) behandelt. Ergebnisse: Bei zwei Katzen ließ sich klinisch eine Remission erreichen. Bei den beiden anderen Katzen war keine ausreichende Besserung der klinischen Symptomatik zu erzielen, wobei auch die Besitzer-Compliance eine Rolle gespielt haben mag. Schlussfolgerung: Die allergenspezifische Immuntherapie sollte auch bei der Katze wegen der häufig auftretenden Schwierigkeit bei der Tabletteneingabe als eine weitere Behandlungsoption in Erwägung gezogen werden.
Summary
Objective: Atopic dermatitis is a common skin disease in cats. Its clinical signs, diagnosis and therapy are described. Study design: In four cats atopic dermatitis was diagnosed on the base of clinical signs (miliary dermatitis, alopecia, pruritus and different forms of the eosinophilic granuloma complex), by ruling out differential diagnosis. According to the results of intracutaneous allergic testing the cats were treated by allergen-specific immunotherapy (desensitisation). Results: Two cats responded to therapy, whereas no sufficient improvement could be achieved in the other two patients, possibly due to compliance problems of the owner. Conclusions: Allergen-specific immunotherapy in cats should be taken into account as a possible alternative therapeutic measure particularly when considering the difficulties with regular oral tablet administration in this species.
