Summary

In this report concepts of resolution and sensitivity that appear compatible with both moving-detector scanners and stationary-detector devices have been developed. While the sensitivities measured from various sources have been de-scribed, plane sensitivity has been selected as the one most useful for system comparison. The line spread function and the modulation transfer function derived from it have been selected to provide the description of the resolution of the system or for any component of the system. Both theoretical and practical considerations of the application of these concepts to moving-detector scanners and stationary-detector devices are discussed.

Dans ce rapport on a developpé une conception de la resolution et de la sensivité compatible pour des détecteurs mobiles et stationnaires. Tout en décrirant la sensitivité mesurée pour des différentes sources on a choisie la sensitivité de plaine comme le système le plus utilisable pour la comparaison.

La fonction de »line-spread“ et la fonction de transfer de modulation, derivée de la précédente ont été choisies pour la description de la résolution du système or de n’importe quelle partie du système. Des considérations pratiques et théoriques sur l’application de cette conception sur des détecteurs mobiles et stationnaires sont discutées.

Der Bericht zeigt die Entwicklung einer Konzeption von Empfindlichkeitnd Auflösung, die auf bewegte und stationäre Detektoren angewendet werden ann. Empfindlichkeiten wurden mit verschiedenen Quellen gemessen und beschrieben und die Flächenempfindlichkeit wurde als zweckmäßigstes Kriterium zum Vergleich von Systemen gewählt. Die line-spread Funktion und die Modulations-Übertragungsfunktion, die von ihr abgeleitet ist, wurden verwendet , um die Auflösung des Systems und seiner Bestandteile zu beschreiben. Theoretische und praktische Betrachtungen dieser Konzepte in ihren Anwendungen auf bewegte und stationäre Detektoren werden diskutiert.
