Simple Method for Determining the Concentration of Serum Thyroxine by Competitive Displacement Analysis

Summary

A simplified method for the determination of serum thyroxine is described. The mathematical formulation of the standard curve required for the competitive displacement analysis permits an evaluation of the serum thyroxine concentration with the use of two standard values instead of measuring the full curve. The values calculated from the formula show a very close correlation with those obtained by comparison with the standard curve.

Une méthode simplifiée pour la détermination du sérum thyroxine est décrite. La formulation mathématique de la courbe standard, nécessaire à l’analyse du déplacement compétitif permet à calculer la concéntration du sérum thyroxine de deux valeurs standard sans la calibration entière de la courbe. Les concentrations calculées par la formule montrent une corrélation étroite avec ceux, évaluées relativement à la courbe calibrée.

Es wird eine einfache Methode für die Bestimmung von Serum-Thyroxin beschrieben. Die mathematische Formulierung der zur kompetitiven Verdrängungsanalyse nötigen Standardkurve ermöglicht die Berechnung der Serum-Thyroxin-Konzentration aus zwei Standardwerten, ohne die ganze Kurve messen zu müssen. Die sich aus der Formel ergebenden Werte zeigen eine enge Korrelation mit denjenigen, die sich relativ zu der Standardkurve ermitteln lassen.
