Summary

Parkinson's disease and other Parkinson syndromes are accompanied with up to 90% sleep disorders which are both caused by the disease itself and by the therapy. Sleep disorders in Parkinson syndromes are still underdiagnosed and not well recognized. An existing REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) can be a pre-motor sign of a neurodegenerative disease. Only a polysomnographical recording diagnoses RBD and differentiate various sleep disorders.
