Zusammenfassung
Gegenstand und Ziel: Der folgende Beitrag behandelt die internationale Aufarbeitung sexuellen Missbrauchs in der katholischen Kirche, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Deutschland, im Hinblick auf kirchliche und staatliche Untersuchungen zu sexuellem Missbrauch sowie Konsequenzen des Missbrauchs und Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten für Betroffene. Material und Methoden: Die quantitativen und qualitativen Daten einer staatlichen und einer katholischen anonymen Anlaufstelle für Betroffene in Deutschland wurden verglichen und nach unterschiedlichen Aspekten aufgeschlüsselt. Ergebnisse: Die Auswertung der Daten beider Anlaufstellen zeigte, dass ein Großteil der berichteten Fälle zum Zeitpunkt der Kontaktaufnahme in der Vergangenheit lagen, dass der Missbrauch wiederholt stattfand, und dass die Mehrzahl der Opfer männlich war. Unterschiede fanden sich in Bezug auf demografische Merkmale, Tatmerkmale, den Missbrauchskontext und Entschädigungsforderungen. Schlussfolgerungen: Anonyme Anlaufstellen sind ein wichtiges Mittel, damit Betroffene im Aufarbeitungsprozess gehört werden, jedoch erfordert eine erfolgreiche Aufarbeitung die Umsetzung dessen, was aus den zahlreichen Botschaften gelernt wurde.
Summary
Objective: The following article deals with the international reprocessing of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, with an emphasis on Germany, regarding church and state inquiries into sexual abuse, as well as its consequences and ways of supporting victims. Material and methods: The quantitative and qualitative data of a state and a Catholic anonymous contact point for victims in Germany was compared and analysed according to various aspects. Results: Analyses of the data of both contact points showed that a large proportion of the reported cases at the time of contact lay in the past, that the abuse happened repeatedly, and that a majority of victims were male. Differences were found regarding demographic aspects, features of the offence, the context of abuse and demands for compensation. Conclusions: Anonymous contact points are an important resource to ensure that victims are heard in the process of dealing with the past; however, a successful reprocessing requires the implementation of what was learned from the countless messages.
