Zusammenfassung
Die intrauterine Rötelnvirusinfektion, vor allem im 1. Trimester, kann zu schwerwiegenden
Schäden des Kindes besonders an Augen, Ohren und Herz führen. Auch postnatal können
weitere Schäden apparent werden wie Entwicklungsverzögerung oder Schwerhörigkeit.
Die Erkrankung ist durch einen sehr gut verträglichen Lebendimpfstoff präventabel,
der zweimal als Kombinationsimpfstoff mit Masern und Mumps allen Kindern ab 11 Monaten
verabreicht wird. Auf der Agenda der Weltgesundheitsorganisation steht die Ausrottung
der konnatalen Röteln zusammen mit den Masern in Europa.
Summary
Intrauterine infection with rubella virus, especially during the first 3 months, may
lead to severe damage of the child, typically affecting eyes, ears and heart. Further
damage may become apparent postnatally including developmental delay or sensorineural
deafness. The illness may be prevented by a well-tolerated live vaccine which is given
twice as a combination vaccine together with measles and mumps to all children starting
with 11 months. The agenda of the world health organization includes eradication of
the congenital rubella syndrome in conjunction with measles in Europe.
