EGFR-Tyrosinkinase-Inhibitoren (TKI) wie Erlotinib oder Gefitinib sind in der Zweit- und Drittlinientherapie des fortgeschrittenen NSCLC mindestens so effektiv wie die Standard-Chemotherapie. In der Firstline-Therapie sind sie bei selektierten Patienten, insbesondere solchen mit aktivierenden EGFR-Mutationen, der Standardtherapie überlegen. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt eine aktuelle Bewertung im New England Journal of Medicine.
