Abstract:

A heritage system is one that has exceeded its lifespan but continues to be used for various reasons, despite the problems it may be causing. Groote Schuur Hospital has a Hospital Information System that is more than 25 years old. The present study reports the result of a survey on users’ attitude and sense of involvement in this system. An attempt is made to determine whether users feel the need for change and whether a sense of involvement is related to this need.
