Purification of Factor IX or its Precursor Isolation of a Hageman-PTA Fraction^[*]

Summary

A purification method is described which allows the isolation of two active fractions: Hageman factor — PTA fraction and factor IX or IX precursor fraction. These two fractions are characterized and some of their properties are indicated.

^* This paper and the four following communications constitute the result of several years’ of investigation on intermediate product I and PrePhase Accelerator (PPA). Publication of this material was postponed until completion of the entire study. For the sake of clarity we prefer to divide the subject into five different publications rather than to include all of the material in one presentation.
