Having treated a vast number of facial traumas over the past 20 years, I remain amazed and humbled searching for the “perfect” result. There are so many factors (related to patient, injury, and repair) to consider and to try to navigate to achieve an excellent outcome, which often times remains elusive. I will honestly continue to learn and adapt likely until the last case I perform. In this collection of articles, we hope to provide the readers, both novice and advanced, with a number of pearls that can help them in their treatment of the complex facial trauma patient. I am grateful to the authors who have sacrificed their time and volunteered their knowledge to help in preparing this volume of Facial Plastic Surgery.
