Gegen Schmerz und Krebs – Ein Plädoyer für Integrative Medizin

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag zeigt am Beispiel der Schmerztherapie bzw. der begleitenden Behandlung von Patienten mit onkologischen Erkrankungen, der sog. Integrativen Onkologie, die wissenschaftlich geprägten Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der Naturheilkunde und Integrativen Medizin. Es geht dabei nicht um ein Entweder-oder, sondern um die Entwicklung gemeinsamer Therapiekonzepte zum Wohle der Patienten. Es bleibt zu hoffen, dass künftig nicht mehr traditionelle Glaubenssätzen sowie die oftmals tiefe Spaltung zwischen Schulmedizin und Naturheilkunde das Miteinander bestimmen, sondern Wissenschaft, ärztliche Erfahrung und ein sinnvolles Ergänzen bzw. ein Voneinander-Lernen.
