An eighteen years old boy, presented in the Emergency Department with clinical signs of subboclusive syndrome. Patient’s history revealed that he was known with frequent episodes of abdominal pain and diarrhea. Biochemical tests showed a Hb of 9.8 g/dl and a prothrombin index of 25%. Plain abdominal radiography pointed out mixed images with horizontal levels arranged within the right flank. Colonoscopy revealed large amount of stones within the ascending colon and cecum. Lithophagia was considered as secondary to a celiac disease. Specific antibodies turned out to be positive and the diagnosis of celiac disease was confirmed by duodenal biopsies.
