introduction Heterotopic gastric mucosa (gastric gastric mucosa) corresponds to functional gastric tissue that is not located at the anatomically usual location. It is usually localized in the upper part of the esophagus and is morphologically very different dar. No similar cases have been published so far.

case report A 14-year-old girl presented with recurrent epistaxis for several months in our clinic. The patient did not report a pre-existing trauma, no coagulation disorder, or prior surgery. At the endonasal examination, an unclear salmon-colored, insular mucosal island about 3 x 2 mm was found on the septal mucosa in the caudal region of Region II after Cottle with no signs of active bleeding, inflammation or other swelling. The remaining ENT examination showed no abnormalities.

After detailed explanation, the next day an operative removal of the troubled mucosa to the perichondrium.

The further control for 3 weeks until a normal mucosa was grown on the site, was without complications. In the control after 5 weeks, the surgical site was no longer definable.

Since then, the patient has no further bleeding from the nose.

conclusion Among the known causes of nasal bleeding (injured mucous membrane, trauma and benign or malignant neoplasms) should by a salmon-colored, insular mucosal island, the hetrotopic gastric mucosa be considered as a differential diagnosis. Treatment by argon plasma coagulation, as with heterotopic gastric mucosa of the esophagus, should be discussed at relapse to or at larger island.
