Das Thoracic-Outlet-Syndrom (TOS) fasst Beschwerdebilder zusammen, bei denen im oberen Brustkorb Nerven oder Blutgefäße (Arterien und/oder Venen) durch Druck geschädigt sind. Obwohl die typischen angiologischen und neurologischen Befunde als Hinweis auf das Vorliegen eines Kompressionssyndroms hinweisen, zeigt sich in der Praxis, dass die Diagnose „TOS“ oft erst nach zahlreichen Arztkonsultationen gestellt und gesichert wird. Dieser Artikel beleuchtet neben der Symptomatik das diagnostische und therapeutische Vorgehen.
