Das Othämatom ist ein alltägliches Problem von Hunden und Katzen in der tierärztlichen Praxis. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über Pathogenese und Ätiologie und fasst die chirurgischen sowie konservativen Behandlungsmethoden zusammen. Die hier beschriebenen Methoden beziehen sich größtenteils auf den Hund, können aber z. T. in angepasster Form auch bei der Katze angewendet werden.
