Abstract
Children of deaf adults (codas) live between the poles of different cultural environments. Of particular interest for research are the linguistic and psychosocial effects of the family situation. Despite notable stresses in some cases, overall the situation is mastered well. Insofar as development is actually or potentially impaired, specialized professional support systems are needed.
