Zusammenfassung
Der vorgestellte Fall wurde aus einer Reihe von Fällen als exemplarisch einfacher
Fall ausgewählt, um die Prinzipien der Kombinationsbehandlung von Kieferorthopädie
und Piezotomie, die eine transiente Knochenmatrixerweichung auslöst, darzustellen.
Da sich der Patient erst einige Wochen nach Beginn der klassischen festsitzenden kieferorthopädischen
Behandlung auch zur Kortikotomie entschloss (Anmerkung: im Standardprotokoll fallen
Beginn der Kieferorthopädie und Piezotomie auf das gleiche Datum), konnte die Kreuzbissüberstellung
an 13 und 22 innerhalb weniger Tage erreicht werden. Die vorübergehende Knochenerweichung
verkürzte die Behandlungszeit beträchtlich und betrug im präsentierten Fall insgesamt
24 Wochen, bzw. 18 Wochen (4 Monate) ab Piezotomie.
Abstract
The case we present was selected out of a punch of cases treated. It is a simple case
to demonstrate the principles of the accelerated osteogenic orthodontic (AOO) therapy,
which utilizes a transient osteopenia triggered by the performed piezotomy.
As the patient decided to go for a piezotomy after several weeks of classical orthodontics
(note: the standard protocol suggests the surgery on the day of starting the orthodontic
treatment), the crossbite in area 13 and 22 could be solved within a few days. The
transient local bone smoothening led to a shortened treatment time, which lasted overall
24 weeks, respectively 18 weeks starting from surgery.
