Zusammenfassung
Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde Vitamin D und die Bedeutung des Sonnenlichts für die Knochengesundheit entdeckt. Heute wird ein Mangel an Vitamin D mit einem erhöhten Risiko für Autoimmunerkrankungen, Typ-2-Diabetes, Infektionskrankheiten, neurokognitive Dysfunktionen, Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen und vielen Krebsarten in Verbindung gebracht.
