Zusammenfassung
Der homöopathische Arzt David Didier Roth verkehrte Mitte des 18. Jh. in den höchsten gesellschaftlichen Kreisen sowie in der Künstlerszene von Paris. Er behandelte unter anderem Persönlichkeiten wie de Rothschild, Chopin und Heine. Zeitlebens bekannte er sich zur Homöopathie und wurde doch einer der ausdauerndsten und radikalsten Kritiker Hahnemanns. Der fanatische Streiter für eine Bereinigung der Arzneimittellehre gehörte zum Flügel der „kritisch-naturwisschenschaftlichen“ Homöopathen und machte sich außerdem auch einen Namen als geschätzter Kunstkenner und -sammler sowie als geschäftstüchtiger Erfinder.
Summary
The homoeopathic physician David Didier Roth associated, in the middle of the 18th century, with the highest society and with the artistic scene of Paris. Among others, he treated personalities as de Rothschild, Chopin and Heine. Standing up for his conviction of homoeopathy all his life, he yet became one of the most ardent and tenacious critics of Hahnemann’s. The fanatic fighter for a cleansing of the materia medica also belonged to the group of the “critical natural scientific” homoeopaths; furthermore he made a name for himself as an appreciated connoisseur and collector of arts and a business-minded inventor.
