Fremdverursachte laserinduzierte Makulopathie

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund: Laserbedingte Augenverletzungen werden zunehmend häufiger in der Öffentlichkeit diskutiert, vor allem, wenn diese durch unbekannte Personen verursacht werden.

Klinischer Befund und Verlauf: Es werden 2 klinische Fallberichte über eine laserinduzierte Makulopathie vorgestellt, welche in der Öffentlichkeit vorsätzlich induziert wurden. Das morphologische Erscheinungsbild wird funduskopisch sowie anhand von Spectralis-Domain-OCT-Darstellungen im Verlauf präsentiert.

Schlussfolgerung: Laserpointer höherer Klassen können schwerwiegende Retinaverletzungen hervorrufen.

Abstract

Background: Laser-induced ocular injuries are of public interest, especially when caused by strangers.

Clinical signs and follow-up: Two laser-induced maculopathies were presented which had been caused by strangers. Morphological findings were shown by funduscopy and Spectralis Domain OCT follow-up.

Conclusion: Severe retina injuries can be induced by laser pointers of higher classes.
