Zusammenfassung
Übergewicht und Adipositas auch im Kindes- und Jugendalter stellen sämtliche Bereiche des Gesundheitssystems aufgrund ihrer Folgeerkrankungen vor große Herausforderungen. Neben präventiven Ansätzen sind daher effektive und nachhaltige therapeutische Maßnahmen notwendig. Im Rahmen des vorliegenden Artikels sollen die aktuellen Grundlagen und bekannte positive wie negative Einflussfaktoren unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Bewegungstherapie zusammengestellt werden.

Juvenile obesity: Chicken or egg – what helps?
Childhood and adolescent overweight and obesity are the most important current public health concerns. Therefore adequate preventive strategies and effective treatment programmes are needed. This overview of pediatric obesity treatment highlights potential positive and negative factors with a special focus on physical activity.
