Die Placeboantwort in der Medizin

Placeboeffekte (PE) und Placeboantwort (PA) sind immanente ­Bestandteile aller medizinischer Interventionen – sowohl im ­Rahmen randomisierter klinischer Studien (randomized controlled clinical trials, RCT) mit neuen diagnostischen und therapeutischen Verfahren, als auch in der Routinebehandlung von Patienten. In den vergangenen 20 Jahren hat die Placeboforschung ein ­erheblich besseres Verständnis der zugrunde liegenden neurobiologischen und psychologischen Mechanismen erlangt ( [Elsenbruch & Enck 2015] ). Die Anzahl der genuinen Publikationen zu PE/PA ist auf über 3000 gestiegen und weist auf die generelle Bedeutung des Phänomens in der ­Medizin hin. Trotz dieses Fortschritts sind einige Probleme und Fragestellungen ungelöst geblieben oder neu aufgeworfen worden. Sie werden im Folgenden im Hinblick auf die experimentelle Placeboforschung sowie auf klinische Dimensionen des PE diskutiert.
