Aussagekraft der Urinkultur vor perkutaner Nephrolithotomie

Vor einer perkutanen Nephrolithotomie zur Steinentfernung wird meist eine Urinkultur angelegt, um das Risiko eines postinterventionellen Harnwegsinfekts abzuschätzen. Ob aber diese Ergebnisse tatsächlich Rückschlüsse auf mögliche pathogene Mikroorganismen innerhalb der Nierensteine zulassen, haben Mediziner der University of Indiana untersucht.
