Hitzschlag – eine saisonale Herausforderung

Hitzschlag ist eine akut lebensbedrohliche Erkrankung und betrifft bei uns vorwiegend Hunde (seltener Katzen). Der klassische Vorbericht ist der bei sommerlichen Temperaturen im Auto eingesperrte Hund [[18]]. Von Tierhaltern wird häufig unterschätzt, wie heiß es in einem abgeschlossenen Raum bei starker Sonneneinstrahlung innerhalb kürzester Zeit werden kann. Brachyzephale Hunderassen, die sich zunehmender Beliebtheit erfreuen, stehen im besonderen Fokus, da sie mit ihren anatomischen und konstitutionellen Voraussetzungen für einen Hitzschlag prädisponiert sind.
