Psychotherapie ist Behandlung der Wahl, eine psychopharmakologische Behandlung der BPS ist nicht evidenzbasiert. Die Schulung medizinischen Personals in Diagnostik und Behandlung von Patienten mit BPS ist dringend notwendig, um Stigmatisierung zu reduzieren und eine adäquate ambulante Versorgung dieser Patientengruppe zu gewährleisten.
