Die Otitis media kommt im Kindesalter sehr häufig vor, oft vergesellschaftet mit einem akuten Infekt der oberen Atemwege. Eine Antibiotika-Behandlung kann unter bestimmten Umständen notwendig sein, zum Beispiel, wenn sich die Symptome nicht nach 2–3 Tagen bessern. Eine homöopathische Erstbehandlung mit Aconitum napellus D 30 und anschließend Pulsatilla D 2 hilft bei etwa 80 % der Fälle.
