Patienten, die unter anhaltenden Symptomen leiden, für die keine körperliche Ursache gefunden werden kann, sind in ihrer Lebensführung eingeschränkt. Die körperlichen Symptome lassen Behandler und Betroffene häufig lange an einem rein somatischen Störungsverständnis festhalten. Durch ein gestuftes Versorgungsangebot und die Erarbeitung eines biopsychosozialen Störungsmodells kann diesen Patienten geholfen werden.
