In this issue, we present a varied assortment of papers that will be of interest to educationists, researchers, and practitioners, the three pillars of any medical system.

Standardisation and quality control of homoeopathic drugs are very challenging. Drug standardisation encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of homoeopathic drugs in respect of their identity and determination of their quality and purity. Besides, their pharmacological, physicochemical, and pharmacological profiles are also gauged to study the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of drugs. As mother tinctures are derived from complex natural resources, there is a need of systemic estimation of chemical markers which correlate with proposed biological activities of mother tinctures. We begin the issue with a paper on physicochemical study, chemical profiling and molecular docking study for standardisation of Damiana mother tincture. The high-performance thin-layer chromatography study shows that the mother tincture contains Apigenin, an active marker of the drug Damiana and the authors intend to explore the comparison between the two in further studies and correlate with hitherto known activities of Damiana mother tincture.

The prevalence of hyperuricemia stood at a whopping 25.8% in 2018 which warrants attention. In their review paper on hyperuricemia, the authors conclude that though there is good grade B scientific evidence, level A research evidence for this condition is lacking. They, therefore, recommend well-designed controlled clinical trials to build a concrete research evidence base of homoeopathy in the treatment of hyperuricemia and/or gout.

Writing case reports plays an important role in advancing knowledge especially in homoeopathic parlance where large number of randomised clinical trials are not available. The case reports not only help in making clinical decisions but also form a foundation for future research. A guide on how to write a case report is a boon for the students who will get important tips to write case reports so that they are readily accepted by journals for publication. Case reports on a rare disease condition called haematidrosis, myocardial fibrosis along with type IV pressure ulcer and psoriasis are other inclusions in this issue. Clinical images and book reviews are other vivid additions.

Hope the readers will find this heterogenous blend of papers on different areas of homoeopathic research enjoyable.

Happy reading!
