Abstract
Schistosomiasis is a frequently occurring infectious disease in refugees and migrants (especially from Africa). Severe complications can occur, if left untreated. Serologic screening in all patients from endemic areas and – if positive – the attempt to isolate eggs from stool or urine should be performed. A positive serology should lead to treatment initiation [1].
