It is with distinct pleasure and enthusiasm that I was given the privilege of assembling a group of very experienced surgeons who have a passion and dedication to perform the best possible surgical face and neck lifts with the longest lasting results for their patients. These surgeons who have authored the chapters in this issue on The Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift are also committed teachers of their refined techniques, which achieve the best results in their hands. Every surgeon contributing has continually assessed and reassessed their own techniques developing highly successful approaches to rejuvenation of the face and neck. Each author pays special attention to their philosophies and techniques to create the best and long-lasting necklines.

This issue also provides some very important and helpful detailed anatomical issues that are paramount to achieving excellent results, yet in a very safe and reliable fashion. Attention to the surgical maneuvers that can increase the aesthetic results yet make everyone aware of the attendant potential risks involved in deep plane dissections and lifting of the cheeks and the neck.

As one reads each author's chapter and pays close attention to the details presented, one will definitively become aware of some differing philosophies, yet many similarities, presented performing This is the “nature” of our specialty and our desire to continually improve results with safe and natural results that are long lasting for the ultimate satisfaction of our patients. For each “beginning” facelift surgeon and for those who have a larger, longer experiences in performing face and neck lifts, these techniques need to be considered carefully and “added to” one's own techniques gradually at the surgeon's comfort level and for the safety of the patient.

As the Guest Editor, I am extremely pleased of the work these accomplished surgeons have put into their descriptions of how they perform The Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift. I know each reader will benefit greatly from this issue and the combined knowledge and expertise provided in their chapters.
