Publication History
Publication Date:
18 March 2002 (online)

Methods of direct introduction of the acyloxy group in place of hydrogen attached to carbon are described. This review covers reactions involving the metal salts: lead(IV) acetate, mercury(II) acetate, thallium(III) acetate, palladium salts, and others. Acyloxylations, using metal salts, of hydrocarbons, carbonyl and carboxylic acid derivatives, ethers, thioethers, and some other compounds are included. 1. Acyloxylations with Lead(IV) Acetate 2. Acyloxylations with Mercury(II) Acetate 3. Acyloxylations with Thallium(III) Acetate 4. Acyloxylations with Palladium Salts 5. Miscellaneous Acyloxylation Reactions
