3′-O-(4-Methoxytetrahydropyran-4-yl)-4-N-benzoylcytidine (1c) and 3′-O-(4-methoxytetrahydropyran-4-yl)-uridine (1d) are prepared from 4-N,2′-O,5′-O-triacetylcytidine (3) in 47 and 65% overall yields, respectively.
