Alkylation of 1-azaallylic anions (generated by deprotonation of alkanimines) with 1,ω-dihaloalkanes provides a useful procedure for the synthesis of δ-chloro- and ε-chloroalkanimines. These ω-haloalkanimines have not been isolated and characterized before, although some representatives were already used as intermediates in some transformations.
