A very efficient azidobromination of alkenes to give ß-bromoalkyl azides using the superacidic perfluororesinsulfuric acid (Nafion-H®) catalyzed reaction of N-bromosuccinimide and azidotrimethylsilane in dichloromethane/nitromethane (3:1 by volume) is described.
