γ-Hydroxyalkyl methyl selenides 6′ and 6″ derived from α-methylselenobenzyllithiums 2 and epoxides 5 proved valuable substrates for the synthesis of arylcyclopropanes 9. Scope and limitations of this new method are disclosed.
