N-tert-Butoxycarbonyl derivatives of L-leucine, S-benzyl-L-cysteine and Nt-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-L-histidine were amidated with crystalline ammonium, methylammonium, and ethylammonium salts of 3-hydroxy-1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one and N-hydroxysuccinimide to give the corresponding amino acid amides in good yield and with good optical purity.
