A series of 2-alkenyl-, 2-alkyl-, 2-aryl-1,1-dimethyl-3-trifluoromethylsulfonyl-isoureas 9, 10 and 11, -thioisourea 12 and -guanidines 13 were prepared by the reaction of dimethylcyanamide 1 with triflic anhydride (Tf2O) followed by treatment with the corresponding ketones 4, alcohols or phenols 5 or 6, thiol 7 and aromatic amines 8.
